Kat Wall Applauds Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins’ Plan to Strengthen America’s Ranchers

Kathaleen Wall, Republican candidate for Texas House District 13, attended Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins‘ announcement of the USDA’s new Plan for American Ranchers and Consumers in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday. Wall, a longtime friend of Sec. Rollins, joined leaders from across the country to show support for the administration’s bold, America First plan to rebuild the U.S. cattle industry and protect rural communities. She was in Washington to participate in an intense Energy Summit Seminar.

“Texas ranchers are hurting,” said Wall. “Over 150,000 ranching operations have been lost in America since 2017, and the national herd is at a 75-year low. Yet demand for beef continues to rise. Sec. Rollins’ leadership shows the kind of decisive, America First, “Make America Healthy Again” action we need to restore stability for producers to keep beef affordable for American families.”

Wall attended the event to support her friend and hear from Sec. Rollins and to listen to her plan on how the Trump administration will work to protect family ranches, expand processing capacity, and secure the nation’s food supply. The plan focuses on rebuilding rural prosperity through practical reforms that reflect the values of Texas producers.

Key policies Secretary Rollins announced include:

  • Increased Incentives and Help for Young Ranchers. This will ensure we are getting new food producers off to a strong start – in part by getting young people involved in Farm-to-Table projects teaching how to get good, natural, nutritious food.
  • Transparent “Product of USA” Labeling: Starting on January 1, 2026, only beef born, raised, and processed in the U.S. can use the label – ensuring American ranchers benefit from their work.
  • Support for Small Producers: Reduced inspection fees and expanded loans and grants to help local meat plants expand capacity and create rural jobs.
  • Expanded Risk and Disaster Relief: Improved indemnity programs for losses from drought and predation, with full market value compensation for livestock killed by protected species.
  • Incentives to Boost Veteran-Owned Ranches and Farms. This is good for both our food supply system and our veterans

“These reforms will strengthen the foundation of U.S. cattle production, bring jobs back to rural America, and secure our nation’s food supply for generations to come,” Wall said.

“I was honored to attend the unveiling event for my friend and fellow Texan Sec. Rollins’ America First plan to revitalize ranches and producers across the United States. She has my full support, and as your next state representative for HD-13, I will work side-by-side with her to implement her agenda, fight for rural Texas values, and defend the farmers and ranchers who are the lifeblood of our state. Together, we will preserve our way of life and ensure Texas remains the heart of American agriculture.”
